The Journey Begins

This article is the first blog post auto-published by WordPress. I’m not entirely sure the purpose it’s supposed to serve. Typically, I’d delete it for a personal, creative welcome post, but the original published date is meaningful to me and the default content (the quote at the bottom) is oddly fitting. The title is so bad that it’s good, so that’s staying too.

On November 29th, I promised myself that I would seek and then commit to pursuing my dream job, the job that fulfills me and makes me forget I’m “working.”

I have absolutely no idea what job or direction this is. If anyone knows the secret formula or map to finding that, please let me know – I’m really good at following directions and rules (which I believe is how I got to this point to begin with).

I started this blog, first and foremost, to organize and document my thoughts and ideas. I keep journals all over my house, in my work bag, by my desk, etc. I’m constantly writing lists and doodling ideas. I thought a digital blog might give me some structure and organization.

I also thought that someday I might be willing to share these thoughts and ideas. I’ve found there are many blogs and social media influencers who, after coming out the other side, generously share their path to success and tips to get through the times in which you do feel lost, unsuccessful, and directionless.

I’m not sure if it will offer any value, but I thought it might be interesting to document my search from the beginning, from the place of feeling lost, unsuccessful, and directionless. If nothing else, I hope to look back on these posts in a few years and chuckle, wondering why I ever doubted myself and thinking “wow, if only my 26 year-old self could see me today.”

Thanks for joining me!
